2. APPROVAL OF December 2025 MINUTES – Heather Liccardi

Thank you to Heather for filling in for Vickie Getz.

Nancy Mandilakis made the motion to accept the minutes from December as corrected. 

Amanda Pfahl seconded the motion - Motion Approved

3. TREASURER REPORT - Denise Klag

Denise reported that we have $35,009.64 in checking and $10,120.31 in Savings. The Bank Statement is always available to see.

Dues are due by December 15,2025 for 2026.  Some dues are overdue.  Renewal notifications will be sent out.

4. COMMITTEE REPORTS

A.  Membership:  Mark Staron & Kati White There are still openings for this committee.

Business Membership $150.00

Non-Profit Membership $75.00

Individual Membership $40.00

B.   Social Media: Christina McVey-

Social media has had a 100% update.

Sign up Genius for Buzzard Day will be operating by the beginning of February.  Chamber member groups will have first chance at signing up before the public.

C. Hinckley Greeters:  Heather Liccardi –

Greeters will have a meeting later in January to recap 2025 and to review and tweak the process for 2026.

Greeter visits will resume in March or April 2026.

Hinckley Chamber Members can bring their advertising to Heather at a meeting.

D. Scholarship: Laura Baciu

In Lauras absence Amande Pfahl reported that Scholarships are open to the entire Highland District.

Applications are available online (Chamber website) or through schools.  The deadline is March 13, 2026.

E. Donations: 

See Mark if interested in chairing this committee. 

F. Citizen of the Year:  Melissa Augustine

Same criteria as last year

Candidate must live in Hinckley.  Elected officials cannot be nominated.

Other township employees can be nominated if they reside in the township.  However, they will not be considered if they are being nominated for doing the tasks as part of their employment.

6.  SPOTLIGHTING OUR MEMBERS

Please see Nancy Mandilakis to be put on the speaker rotation for 2026.

Amanda Pfahl was our speaker for January.

After 20 years owning her own State Farm Insurance Agency, Amanda taught us about the “whys” of purchasing insurance.  She did this using her own experiences.  The “WHYS” include parents, children, family matters, safety and education.

7. Old Business

A.  Hinckley Holidays – Saturday, December 6, 2025 (6:00pm-8:00pm)-

Mark Staron estimated over 400 attendees in all 

Fire Truck and Santa were very popular

Pitti-Cakes (Christina McVey) made 67 dozen cookies – some were given to the choir for their bus ride back to their school

Preparing only 1 batch of cocoa worked out well

Santa prepared for 200 children - used about 160

Added Expenses: Kati White bought 4 new trees at Home Depot

How could we advertise this better?

B.  Buzzard Day - Sunday, March 15, 2026, at Hinckley Preparatory Academy (7:00am-2:00pm)

Next planning meeting is Wed., January 28 - 5:30 at Town Hall

Sponsorships are open.  See Christina or Denise.

Sausage ordering forms are online.  $45 per package and $25 for members

Buzzard Replacement Costume: The former Buzzard Costume needs to be replaced.  Christina and Trish found replacements costing from $1620 (with storage sack) to $529.   Purchasing by fund raising or from donations was discussed.  More discussion will follow.

The next planning meeting will be on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at 5:30pm at Hinckley Town Hall.

C. 3rd Annual Golf Outing - Friday, May 15, 2026, at Valleaire Golf & Event Center (8am-4:30pm)

D. Hinckley Halloween - Saturday, October 2026 (4:00pm-6:00pm)

8.   New Business

Vice President Christina McVey and Treasurer Denise Klag announced they would be stepping down from their elected positions after Buzzard Day.  They will stay until then to help in the transition of new officers.
