Apply for Scholarships
The Hinckley Chamber of Commerce offers four financial assistance scholarships to eligible Highland School District, Medina Career Center and Hinckley student residents attending Brunswick schools. Presented in April, each $1,000 scholarship can be used for books or tuition. Starting this year, 2 scholarships are designated for continuing Trades and 2 scholarships are designated for College Bound students.
Eligibility
Hinckley resident or attending Highland School District
Currently pursuing a post-high school training program such as business school, technical school, or college/university study
Planning to attend college or technical schooling the next fall
Trade Scholarship Requirements
A typed essay of no more than two pages and 500 words, which should address each of the following:
Your career goals and your plan to achieve them
Non-academic community involvement and your role(s)
Academic achievements
Describe work experience, both paid and volunteer
Describe entrepreneurship or leadership experience
List non-academic skills and interests
Attach a current report card or transcript that shows your cumulative GPA
College Scholarship Requirements
A typed essay of no more than two pages and 500 words will be evaluated on its technical quality and content, which should address the following topics:
Your career goals and your plan to achieve them
Non-academic community involvement and your role(s)
Academic achievements
Describe work experience, both paid and volunteer
Describe entrepreneurship or leadership experience
List non-academic skills and interests
Attach a current report card or transcript that shows your cumulative GPA
All Students:
The top five (5) candidates must complete an in-person interview as a final step in the evaluation process. Scholarship recipients will read their essay to the general Chamber membership at their first Thursday meeting in May, at Town Hall, where recipients will also meet their Chamber member mentor. A paid receipt for tuition, educational materials and/or student fees must be submitted via email to: hinckleychambercholarships@gmail.com in order to receive scholarship funds.
Submissions
Applications are available in the counselor’s office at Highland High School, Brunswick High School, Medina County Career Center, and online at the Hinckley Chamber scholarship application.
Applications and essays can be submitted below and before March 15 to be considered.
Applications received after the deadline will not be considered.

Fill Out Applications and Submit Essay
Scholarship recipients are notified by phone and/or letter by the middle of April. Recipients are asked to read their essay to the general membership on the first Thursday of May at the monthly meeting.
A check is issued to the recipient upon submission of a paid tuition receipt to the Chamber. Good luck to all applicants!
