Denise Klag was out speaker for June. She is Vice President of Cleveland Home Title and has been with them for 13 years. Title Insurance was created in Pennsylvania in 1886. They provide checks and balance. They are an independent third party iin the real estate transaction representing the client. They make sure there are no liens, defects, ets. and that the property is free and clear. they research the property, buyer and seller to make sure there are no issues. They hold down payment, closing costs, etc. in excrow which means they must meet several deadlines. You don’t have to have a lender or agent, but you do need a title company for a transaction.
